Wide Area Network(WAN)

WAN network is implemented  in large geographical  area.WANs often connect multiple smaller networks such as LAN or MAN

Advantage of WAN

• Messages can be sent very quickly to anyone else on the network


• Expensie things can be shared by all the computers on the network without having to buy a different periphal for each computer


• Everyone on the network can use the same data


• Share information/files over large area

Disadvantage:

• setting up a network can be an expensive aand complicated experience


• Security is real issue when many different people use information


• Maintaining a network is a full time job which requires network supervisors
